Betty Mcallister

CALLING HOURS: 1 hour prior to the service FUNERAL: 12:00 pm Saturday at Haller's Betty I. McAllister, 86, of Chillicothe, died 11:00 pm, Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at Heartland of Chillicothe, following an extended illness.   She was born May 26, 1924 in Ross Co. to Dewey and Florence Sullivan.   On November 26, 1947 she married Denman Clark McAllister.   She is survived by her loving daughter, Marilyn Hawk, of Chillicothe; her grandchildren, Hans Hawk, Jamie (Christi) Hawk, Michelle Mudd, and David (Cheryl) McAllister; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Joe Sullivan, Glen (Cathy) Sullivan, and James (Francis) Sullivan; a special sister-in-law, Connie Sullivan; many nieces and nephews; and a son-in-law, Fred Hawk.   She was preceded in death by 2 children, David and Candice McAllister; and 2 brothers, Robert and Bill Sullivan.   Betty was an avid reader.   She enjoyed spending time at the library, sewing, cooking, and spending time with loved ones.   She was often heard singing hymns or reciting poems.   The family would like to thank everyone at Heartland of Chillicothe for their compassion and excellent care during her time there.   Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm Saturday at the Haller Funeral Home.   Friends may call one hour prior to the service at Haller's.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Haller Funeral Home, 1661 Western Ave., Chillicothe, OH, 45601, in Betty's name.
