Betty J. Immell, 92, of Chillicothe, passed from this life to her eternal home on October 11, 2021. She was born January 18, 1929 in Ross Co. to the late Ernest E. and Eliza B. Willis Gunlock. On September 6, 1945 she married Howard G. Immell, who died April 26, 2017. They spent 72 years together. Survivors include her children, Mary (Raymond) Wiget, Kathy Bennett, and Charles "Joe" (Tammy) Immell, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Rodney (Tami) Wiget, David "Rusty" Wiget, Kathryn (Charles) Vest, Betsy Bennett, Jessica Immell Cheadle, and Charles "CJ" (LaRissa) Immell; great-grandchildren, Jordan (Dale) McCullough, Jenna (J. D. Smith) Wiget, Evelyn Wiget, Ava Wiget, Josie Vest, Charlotte Vest, Rilynn Immell and Lincoln Immell; great-great-children, Teagan McCullough, Aspyn McCullough and Axton Hatfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Wendell Gunlock; a sister, Nina Kelley, and a son-in-law, Terry Bennett. Betty was very creative and talented. She worked as a nursing aid, lifeguard, caregiver, floral designer and she quilted. She even knitted sweaters for family members, enjoyed sewing and tole painting. She served as a volunteer at the Cancer Thrift Shop. The family would like to thank special caregivers Madelyn Young and Quinn Dugan, and all of the staff at Wyngate Senior Living. In accordance with her wishes, Betty will be cremated and private graveside services will be held in Grandview Cemetery. Calling hours will not be observed.
