Betty Downs

Betty L. Downs, 65, of Frankfort, died at 1:53pm Monday, January 29, 2007, in Mt. Carmel West Hospital. She was born April 25, 1941, in Chillicothe to the late Charles W. and Florence E. (Walsh) Price. On February 19, 1955, she married Carl Downs, who preceded her in death February 19, 1992. Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law Cathy Downs, Chillicothe; Cindy (Harold) Allison, Massieville; Cassandra (Glenn) Wilson, Frankfort; Patricia (Kevin) Baker, Chillicothe; son Doyt Downs, Scottsville, KY; son and daughter-in-law Charles (Daisy) Downs, Chillicothe; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren; step-sons Richard Yoakem, Scottsville, KY; and Carl Downs, Jr., Chillicothe; step-daughters Dianna and Alexis; and sisters Thelma Hopkins, Chillicothe; and Carolyn (George) Detty, Kingston. She was predeceased by her step-father William Walsh; step-daughter Elizabeth; a brother Gerald Price; and a brother-in-law Raymond Hopkins. Betty worked as a nurse's aid. She attended Schooley Chapel Church. Funeral services will be held at Noon Friday at the Haller Funeral Home with Rev. Hubert Salley, Jr. officiating. Burial will be follow at 2:30pm in Dublin City Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8pm Thursday at Haller's.
