Betty Cruse

Betty L. Cruse, 87, of Chillicothe, died at 7:00am Thursday, October 20, 2011, in Traditions of Chillicothe. She was born February 22, 1924, in Ross County to the late Ernest H. and Gertrude A. Shull Claytor. On May 21, 1942, she married Edgar Donald Cruse, who preceded her in death in 1961. Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law Donald (Gail) Cruse and Paul (Bonnie) Cruse, all of Chillicothe; 5 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; 1 step-great-grandchild; sisters Norma Jean (Alex) Lazar, Powell, OH; and Rosemary Pollard, Chillicothe. She was predeceased by a brother Harold E. Claytor and a brother-in-law Bill Pollard. Mrs. Cruse was a machine operator at the former Rubbermaid Co. and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am Monday, October 24, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Rev. Lawrence Hummer, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery. At her request, calling hours will not be observed. Arrangements are under the direction of Haller Funeral Home.
