Betty Brewer

Betty L. Brewer, 86, of Chillicothe, died June 11, 2022, after a brief illness.   She was born November 5, 1935, in Chillicothe, to the late Valendingham "Val" and Marie (Miller) Raines.  On August 15, 1953, she married John E. "Jack" Brewer, who preceded her in death September 13, 2020.  She was also predeceased by her uncle and aunt, Carl and Ruth Raines, who raised her; brothers Charles and Melvin Raines; a sister Pauline Adkins, and a son-in-law Stacey Angus.   Surviving are her daughters: Jacqueline L. Angus, Chillicothe, and Teresa J. (Keith) White, of Trinity, Alabama; three grandchildren: Carianne Webb, Tina (Dusty) Downing, all of Chillicothe, and Jonathan (Sasha) Griggs, of Denver, CO; six great-grandchildren: Jordan and Jeffery Webb, of Chillicothe, Emma Downing of Cleveland, Dylan Downing, of Chillicothe, and Linus and Clementine Griggs, both of Denver, CO; one great-great-granddaughter: Tucker Grace Webb, of Chillicothe; and her brother Val (Cleota) Raines, Jr.   Betty was passionate about her role as a wife, mother and grandmother and lovingly embraced it.  We are all comforted in believing she heard every word, tale and the joy, love and legacy she has left with us.  She will be sorely missed, but will remain a large part of who each of us are.  We're comforted knowing she and Jack are reunited.   Our dear mother made her final arrangements years ago so her family wouldn't have to.  She requested no funeral services.  Arrangements are under the direction of Haller Funeral Home & Crematory.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to support breast cancer research via The James Cancer Center at: The OSU Foundation-Fund # 302104, PO Box 710811, Columbus, OH 43271.
