Betty Bolen

Betty Lou Bolen, 85, of Londonderry, passed away peacefully at her home December 19, 2014. She was born June 16, 1929 in Meigs County Ohio to George and Ethel Cummings Radekin. Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Roger Bolen; a son, John Bolen, Springfield, OH; granddaughter, Wendy, Tampa, FL; sister-in-law, Barbara Radekin, McArthur; brother-in-law, Max (Vivian) Bolen, Pataskala, OH; sisters-in-law, Lois (Keith) Weaver, Columbus, OH, Helen Bolen, New Martinsville, WV, and Donna Nelson, Pomeroy, OH; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; sisters, Ina Sams, Dena Hoffman, Georgia Phillips, and Doris Miller; brothers, John Edward Radekin and George Radekin Jr. Betty graduated from Columbia High School, Meigs County. She worked for many years as office manager and salesperson for Evans Insurance, of Chillicothe. She was a long time member of Vigo Baptist Church. Her faith was an important part of her daily life. She was active in the Liberty Township Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, where she was a charter member. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday at the Haller Funeral Home, Rev. Chuck Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery. Friends may call 4-7 pm Monday at Haller's. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Vigo Baptist Church, 40 Church St., Londonderry, OH 45647.
