Bettie Mccracken

Bettie McCracken, 68, of Chillicothe, died on her birthday at 8:25am, Friday, December 13, 2013, at her residence following a brief illness. She was born December 13, 1945, in Kermit, WV, to the late Wayne and Lillie Mae (Marcum) Williamson. She is survived by her daughter Jean McCracken, of Frankfort; son and daughter-in-law Ralph (Michelle) McCracken, Jr., of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren Ali McCracken, Frankfort; Isaiah and Kayla McCracken, both of Birmingham, AL; sisters Alice Williams, of Chillicothe; and Brenda (John) Charles, of Warfield, KY; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her former husband Ralph McCracken, Sr.; sisters Vada Williamson, Anna Mae Block and Alpha Ramey; and brothers Charles, Edgar, James and Bill Williamson. Bettie retired from the VA Medical Center in 2005 as a registered nurse. She earned her nursing degree from Rio Grande in 1991. She served her country in the US Army, retiring in 2001 as a Sergeant First Class. Bettie was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, 341 Clinton Rd., where her funeral service will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, December 17, with Pastor Ryan Bevan officiating. Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard, will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 6-8pm Monday at HALLER FUNERAL HOME.
