Bethany Jo Urik passed away on Wednesday July 9, 2025, in her home in Chillicothe at the age of 71. She was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on November 20, 1953, to Frances and Barbara Jo (Green) Crum. She married John Urik on June 27, 1992.
Bethany is survived by her husband, John, brother Jeff Crum, sister-in-law Pat Crum and niece Sara Crum. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Bethany had a passion for learning having received degrees from Shawnee State University, Miami University (Ohio), University of Cincinnati, and Ohio University where she received her Chemical Engineering Degree. During that time, she worked at the Atomic Plant, Proctor & Gamble, and Goodyear Tire & Rubber.
She loved Cross Stitch and quilting, and travelling to historic Civil War sites with John, family and friends.
A special thank you to Adena Hospice for the care shown to Bethany and to the private care givers Hanna, Jaden, Ali, and others.
At Bethany's request, cremation will take place. Arrangements entrusted to the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory.
