Beth Schrake

New Straitsville, Ohio- Beth Elaine Schrake, of New Straitsville passed from this life on Sunday, November 17, 2024 at 6:38 pm at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster, Ohio.  She was born September 6, 1954 in Chillicothe, the daughter of Claude and Mary Alice Gray.  Beth was engaged and lived the past 30 years with her fiancé Dave Lee Adcock, who survives.  They met at Godfather's pizza where Beth worked as a manager for many years.



Also surviving is her daughter Beth Magill, son Aaron Schrake and step daughter Holly (John) Westhoven; her grandchildren  Branden Magill, Austin Magill and Dylan (Brieanna) Magill, Shira Scherer, Conner Schrake, Riley Clements,  Alexis Hankison, Hope Magill and Damien Decot;  her great-grandchildren Ava Beth Miller, Brenna Magill, Liam Harvey, Hastyn Havey and Carlynn Magill; her sister Kristi Gillum and brothers, David (Gina) Gray, Craig (Tina) Gray, Bruce (Sarah) Gray.  She was preceded in death by both her parents.



Beth will be remembered as a loving and devoted fiancé, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.  When her children were young she served as a Sunday School teacher at Charleston Church of the Brothern.  She also served as president of the PTO where her children attended school. She was a hard-working single mom that sometimes held down 2 jobs.  She was a playful grandmother. Her children and grandchildren remember her as being the "cool grandma"!   She loved coffee, OSU football, Scooby Doo, TMNT and western movies. One of her favorite music groups was Journey.  Beth loved her dogs, Bo, Luke and Molly and she always loved watching the deer in her yard and other various animals.



In keeping with her wishes, following cremation, a Memorial Service will be held in the First Capital Christian Church located at 900 Orange St. Chillicothe, OH. The service will be Sunday December 8, 2024 at 4:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist the family.
