Beryl L. Minnix, 91, of Chillicothe, died at 12:11pm Monday, December 12, 2011, in Adena Regional Medical Center. He was born September 22, 1920, in Ross County to the late Virgil and Minnie (Hurles) Minnix. On June 22, 1947, he married the former Olive L. Johnson, who survives. Also surviving are his sons and daughters-in-law David (Donna) Minnix; Joseph (Deborah) Minnix, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren: Abigail Minnix, Hilliard; Corbin Minnix, Grove City; Dr. Bill (Dr. Heather) Sever, Chillicothe; Nate Sever, Marysville; Amy (Todd) Moore, Chillicothe; great-grandchildren: Brittany and Brett Moore; and Caroline Sever; his sister Helen Wade; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Eugene and Earl Minnix; and sisters Ruth Cairns, Mildred Johnson, Mabel Parker and Elmy Estep. Beryl retired from the N & W Railroad following 22 years of service, then retired from the US Postal Service in 1984 following another 22 years of service. He served his country in the US Army during WWII and was a member of the Adena Road Church of Christ. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday, December 16, at the Haller Funeral Home with Pastor Jon Creamer officiating. Military graveside services conducted by the Ross Co Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 11am until 1pm at Haller Funeral Home.
