Bernie Buckner

Bernie Buckner, 82, of Chillicothe, passed away January 22, 2018, at Heartland of Chillicothe, following an extended illness. He was born June 27, 1935, to the late Amos and Lillie (Stevens) Buckner. Bernie is survived by his daughters, Crystal Buckner and her Fiancé Ronald Yoakem, of Bourneville, and Nikki Buckner; his grandchildren, Michelle, Alexis, Christy, Gloria, Steven, Joey, Jacob, Ashley, and Jessica; his sister, Addie Madden; a brother, James "Jim" Buckner; his former wife of many years, Mary Sparks; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Rittenhouse; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons Bernie Rittenhouse and Amos Buckner, a daughter Sharon Buckner, and his brothers and sister, Clifford, Willard, Edward, and Mae Buckner.   Bernie was a member of the Chillicothe Moose Lodge 1626, and enjoyed spending time with his friends at the Hiawatha Inn. He also enjoyed playing guitar and playing pool in his free time. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no public calling hours. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
