Bernell Valentine

Bernell L. "Po" Valentine, 72, of Chillicothe, died at 9:55pm January 16, 2006, in Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. He was born December 29, 1933, in Ross Co., to the late Clarence E., Sr. and Estell (Hitchens) Valentine. On March 24, 1961, he married the former Jane I. Raney, who preceded him in death in January, 2001. Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law Tina (Dave) Wyatt; step-daughter Elizabeth McCloud; step-son Kenneth E. Valentine, all of Chillicothe; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister Ester Valentine Bates, of Sandusky, OH; brothers Clarence E. "Jake," Jr. (Elvira) Valentine, Chillicothe; and Clyde (Josephine) Valentine, Oberlin, OH; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 3 sisters, 3 brothers, and a great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday, January 20, at the Haller Funeral Home with Rev. Melonie Valentine officiating. Military graveside services for the Korean Air Force Veteran will follow in Caldwell Cemetery conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call from 11:00am Friday until the hour of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to Haller Funeral Home to assist with expenses.
