Berlin I. McCann, 92, of Chillicothe, passed away early Friday morning, August 2, 2024 at his home, following a brief illness.
He was born March 17, 1932, in Chillicothe, son of the late William and Grace (Bethel) McCann. On September 6, 1958, he married his beloved wife, Lora Mae (Shaw) McCann, and together they shared over 60 years of marriage before her passing on December 3, 2018.
Surviving is their daughter and son-in-law, Toni (Jeryl) Webb; granddaughter, Darbi Webb; nephews, Gary (Dianna) McCann, and Mark McCann; niece, Pamela (George) Cline; his beloved dog companions, Pete and Abby; as well as numerous other extended family members and close friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Fred McCann; and brothers, William (Doris) McCann, and Edward (Joanne) McCann.
Berlin was a graduate of Huntington High School, class of 1950. He went on to continue working on the family farm, and later the County Garage where he retired after many years of employment. Berlin devoted his life to his family and his church, where he served as an Elder for more than 49 years at the Sunrush Church of Christ. He will forever be remembered for his kind heart, loving demeanor, and quick-witted jokes.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Berlin's nursing aid, Sierra, for all of her love and care during Berlin's illness.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at the Sunrush Church of Christ with Minister Roger Rush officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Township Cemetery. Friends may join the family for visitation from 5:00pm-8:00pm on Monday at Haller Funeral Home, and from 10:00am until the time of the service on Tuesday at the Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Sunrush Church of Christ in his honor.
