Beatrice Morris passed away on April 26, 2016, at Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. She was born January 20, 1927, in Cleveland, OH, daughter of Dr. Emil and Mrs. Beatrice Zeleznik. She married Donald Morris, who survives, on October 27, 1951. Also surviving are her son James Morris, of Chillicothe, daughters Nancy Morris, of Columbus, Susan Morris and Jean (Pat) Porter, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren Cory Porter, Chad (Christine) Morris, all of Chillicothe, and Kelsie Morris, of Columbus; great-grandchildren Celina and Caleb Morris, of Chillicothe; a sister Emily Viland, of Shaker Heights, OH; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, sisters Rita (George) Schmidt, of South Bend, IN, and Therese (Charles) Dyas, of Troy, OH; and a brother-in-law Roger Viland. Beatrice attended Shaker Heights High School and then Ohio University. Following her marriage, she was a stay at home mother for a number of years. Then she became a teacher at Unioto High School for 17 years. Upon retirement, she and her husband purchased a motorhome and for the next 20 years traveled to various parts of the United States. They became very active in the Ohio Good Sam Club and served 12 years as officers, 6 of which her husband was the state director and she was secretary. They spent winters in Florida for 20 years. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Sunday, May 1, at Haller Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Scott Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 11am until 1pm at Haller's.
