Barbara Evans Barnhart Wissler of Chillicothe,OH, lost her short battle with lymphoma on January 20, 2022.
Born in Chillicothe, Ohio on November 30, 1936, Barbara was the eldest child and the only daughter to the late Elizabeth Evans Barnhart & Robert Allen Barnhart, Sr. She is survived by her son, Dr. Eric (Vicki) Wissler and son-in-law John Domino; grandsons Payne (Gabriela) Wissler, Pierce (Emily) Wissler, and Nicholas Domino; granddaughters, Sydney Wissler and Chloe Domino. Barbara's brothers Peter W.C. (Judy) Barnhart and James B. (Diane) Barnhart also survive her, as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews. On her twenty first birthday in 1957 she wed John E. Wissler to whom she was married for 39 years until his death in 1996. Also preceding her in death were her two brothers Robert Allen Barnhart, Jr. and John Haynes Barnhart and most recently her daughter Caroline Domino.
Barbara graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1954 and attended The Ohio State University before becoming a medical technologist for Chillicothe Hospital from which she retired after a 38 year career. Barbara loved singing in the Columbus Symphony Chorus for many years with her husband and dear friends Terry Davis and Linda Litter. She was an avid reader, tennis enthusiast, and a dedicated annual volunteer for The Memorial Golf Tournament. Barbara will be fondly remembered by her friends and family as a proud mother and grandmother, talented singer, and lover of the theater and arts. Her exuberant smile and stylish persona will truly be missed.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Haller Funeral Home, Chillicothe, OH. A graveside service at Grandview Cemetery will be held at a later date.
