Barbara Wickline

December 16, 1933 — September 30, 2022

Barbara Sue (Davis) Wickline, 88, of Chillicothe, passed away Friday morning, September 30, 2022, following an extended illness.

She was born December 16, 1933, in Chillicothe, Ohio, daughter of the late Ralph and Helen (Hammond) Davis. On January 26, 1989, she married her high school sweetheart, Gerald "Jerry" Franklin Wickline, and together they shared nearly 31 wonderful years of marriage before his passing.

Surviving is her daughter, Beverly Sue Tyler; three grandchildren, Shawn (Nicole) Long, Chad (Stacey) Tyler, and Dustin (Allison) Tyler; two great-grandchildren, Charli Tyler and Davis Long; step-children, Roger (Kelly) Wickline, Karen (Mark) Roth, and Denise Wickline; step-grandchildren, Cameron, Emily, and Ashley; siblings, Ora Davis, Lois (William) Good, and Hilda (Bernard) Dearth; sister-in-law, Faye Wickline; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her beloved son, Jeffrey Alan Tyler; a brother, Harold "Cork" Davis; sisters, Laura Belle Seifert, and Mary Constance Climer; and sister-in-law, Laura Davis.

Barbara was a lifelong member and past president of the American Legion Post 62 Ladies Auxiliary. She worked at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center for many years, and later in Commercial Fishing off the Oregon Coast with her husband Jerry. She was well known for her deep love and devotion to family and friends. Some of her favorite activities included hosting family get-togethers and holiday events at her home. She cherished all of the time she got to spend with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; they were truly the joys of her life.

Her family knew her to be the glue that held everyone together. She was selfless, genuine, kindhearted, and was never satisfied until she knew her loved ones were happy and comfortable. Although letting her go was the hardest thing to do, they know she has been reunited with her beloved husband Jerry. She may be gone from sight, but not from the hearts of those who knew her.

In accordance with her wishes, private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in Londonderry Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a loving, heartfelt thank you to the staff of National Church Residences Hospice, and her beloved sister Hilda for the wonderful care she received.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her honor to the Adena Cancer Center.
