Barbara J. Throckmorton, 71, of Chillicothe, died at 1:50pm Saturday, March 19, 2011, in Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. She was born August 12, 1939, in Frankfort, OH, to the late Clarence E. Frey. On September 1, 1961, she married Jon F. Throckmorton, who survives. Also surviving are her daughter and son-in-law Dawn (Danny) Perdew; son Chris Throckmorton, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren: Michael Perdew; Scott (Jenny) Perdew; Crystal Perdew; Adam Perdew; Travis Perdew; Rayen Throckmorton; great-grandchildren: Cassie and Corey Perdew; Carson Hollis; Luke and Logan Perdew; Bryan and Andrew Perdew; brothers and sisters-in-law Donny (Vicki) Frey and Harold (Lucille) Frey; brother Steve Frey; sister Kathy Hedrick; step-brother and sister-in-law Francis (Millie) Frey; an aunt Grace Frey; sisters-in-law Barbara Hawkins and Carol Throckmorton; brother-in-law Jim Throckmorton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother Kenny Frey; step-mother Virginia Frey; her uncle Harold D. Frey, Jr.; an aunt Ethel (Frey) Lytle; and a brother-in-law Dan Throckmorton. Barb was a member of the Chillicothe Baptist Church where she loved teaching Sunday School. She was a graduate of Unioto High School, Class of 1958. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Some of her favorite activities including being outdoors, watching birds, growing flowers, and mowing the lawn. Barb also collected angels and pictures of covered bridges. Two of her favorite pastimes were playing with her grandchildren and singing in the choir at Westmoreland. The family would like to thank the staff and residents at Westmoreland for all of their love and care. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, March 23, in the Haller Funeral Home with Rev. John Burris officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-8pm at Haller Funeral Home. She left us all too soon. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends and will always be in our hearts.
