Barbara Retherford

Barbara J. Retherford Barbara J. Boothe Retherford, 58, of Chillicothe, died 2:55 am, Tuesday, July 15, 2008, in her home, following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday, in the Haller Funeral Home, with her uncle, Rev. Charles Ott officiating. Burial will follow in Springbank Cemetery. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 pm Thursday, and one hour prior to the funeral at Haller's. She was born October 2, 1949 in Chillicothe to Frank D. and Mary E. Ott Boothe, who survive. On September 21, 1968 she married Michael "Herbie" Retherford, who died February 27, 2008. In addition to her parents, survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Ann (Michael) White, of Waverly; a son, Jason M. (Melissa) Retherford, of Ashville, OH; two grandchildren, Ian Michael White and Mallory Jo Retherford; a sister, Debby (Jim) Humphreys, of Jacksonville, FL; and brothers, Dan (Sue) Boothe, of New Albany and Dave (Clare) Boothe, of Atlanta, GA; and many special friends she met throughout her career. Barb retired from the State of Ohio Department of Corrections, having worked at both CCI and RCI. She was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 600 Auxiliary. Memorial contributions may be made to the Adena Health Foundation, Friends of Hospice, or the PACCAR Education Center, Eagles/Herbie Retherford Scholarship Fund, 272 Hospital Rd., Chillicothe.
