Barbara A. Pettiford, 72, of Greenfield, died unexpectedly March 5, 2023, at her residence.
She was born March 27, 1950 in Chillicothe to the late Lloyd and Grace Mayo Winfield. Survivors include 4 daughters, Barbara Pettiford, Dayton, Carla (John) Harris, Washington CH, Mary (Larry) Pettiford-Jordan, Trotwood, and Beatrice (Chad) Cruisie, Greenfield; 2 sons, David Pettiford, Washington CH and Kenneth (Megan) Pettiford, Florida; 23 grandchildren, including 4 who have served in the military, Larry Jordan, Tyrae, Cedric and Jalen Pettiford; numerous great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Betty Winfield; and a special friend, Paula Stepter. She was preceded in death by a grandchild, Denise Harris; her former husband, and the father of her children, David Pettiford; and 8 siblings.
Barbara retired as a maintenance supervisor with Court House Manor, and went on to work for the Washington City School System. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She was a member of Zion Baptist Church, where her funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, Rev. Dr. J. Troy Gray officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call 11:00 – 1:00 Saturday at Zion.
