Barbara Michaels

Barbara L. Michaels, 65, of Chillicothe, went to be with the Lord August 3, 2007, in Pike Community Hospital, Waverly, following an extended illness. A Celebration of Life service will be held 11:00am Tuesday, August 7, at the Haller Funeral Home with Gary Tomlinson officiating. Barbara was born June 22, 1942, in Columbus, OH to the late Charles O. and Melva Louise Hardesty Woods. In 1964, she married Gerald F. Michaels, who survives. Also surviving are her daughter Veronica L. Tackett, Chillicothe; son Shane Michaels, Piketon; son and daughter-in-law Shawn (Pat) Michaels, Corenth, KY; grandchildren Rebecca (Robert) Short; Jerald J. Hundley, all of Chillicothe; Shawnna Michaels, Albuquerque, NM; Kimberly Michaels, Chillicothe; great-grandchildren Cherish L. Hardesty and Robert D. Short, both of Chillicothe; a brother Ronald (Joanie) Woods; sisters Sharon (Ronald) Boggs, Joycelyn Gallagher, and Peggy Puckett; and a host of nieces and nephews and their families. She was predeceased her brothers Walter, Robert, and Charles Woods. Barbara was a survivor of many battles in her lifetime, including polio and cancer. She gave much of her time to helping others. Now she is volunteering in heaven. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Barbara L. Michaels Memorial Fund, c/o Haller Funeral Home, 1661 Western Avenue, Chillicothe.
