Barbara Cooper

Barbara M. Cooper, 79, of Columbus, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Mt. Carmel, St. Ann's Hospital, Westerville, OH. Barbara was born January 1, 1933 in Chillicothe, OH. She was preceded in death by her father, Rev. Bernard Cooper, mother Ethel Cooper, brother Bernard Cooper, Jr. and sisters Ann Brown, Roberta Hickman, Kay Cooper and Mary Harris. She is survived by her sons, Craig (Fay) Cooper and John (Diana) Cooper, Jr. of Columbus; grandchildren, Tiffany, Michelle, Michael, Yakira, Jordyn and John III; great-grandchildren Aniah, Troy, Xavier, Izaiah and Sarai. Barbara was a 1951 graduate of Chillicothe High School. She attended Franklin University. She was previously employed by the Defense Construction Supply Center. She was a founding Member of New Beginnings Empowerment Ministries, Columbus, OH, and a former member of First Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Ohio. Funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday at First Baptist Church, 65 W. 4th Street, Chillicothe. Family and friends may call from 10 am until time of the service on Saturday.
