Barbara A. Buskirk, 77, of Chillicothe, died unexpectedly Saturday, February 28, 2009, in her home. She was born February 13, 1932, in Chillicothe to the late Theodore Brownfield and Lucy Caldwell. On April 13, 1954, she married Donald G. Buskirk, who preceded her in death on January 19, 1997. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law Susan (Scott) Peecher, of Clarksburg; son Donald Buskirk, Chillicothe; son and daughter-in-law Michael (Cathy) Buskirk, Chillicothe; son Christopher Buskirk and his companion Tracey Trout, of Sarasota, FL; grandchildren: Jason Buskirk, Carrie (Flynn) Robinson; Crystal Peecher; Gabriel (Cara) Peecher; Bryan (Jenny) Buskirk; Nathan Buskirk; Joseph Buskirk; and Jacob Buskirk; great-grandchildren: Kasidy Buskirk; Kamri Dixon; Madelyn Reutinger; Makenzy Wells; Maylee Hines; Aiden Peecher; Reed Hines; Kennedi Peecher; Darren Buskirk; and Savannah Buskirk; brother-in-law Dave (Sara) Buskirk; step-daughter Marla (Lowell) French, and their families; numerous nieces and nephews and their families, whom she loved dearly; and a former son-in-law David Sass. She was predeceased by a daughter Nancy Buskirk Sass; granddaughter Lindsey Buskirk; and a sister Delores Caldwell. Barbara had attended the Chillicothe City Schools until her senior year, when she graduated from Centralia High School. However, she was always considered a member of the Chillicothe High School, Class of 1950. She was a member of the Ross Archeology Society. She enjoyed vacationing, camping and spending time with her family and Class of 1950 activities. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, March 4, in the Haller Funeral Home, with Pastor Ryan Bevan officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-8pm at Haller Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of the donor's choice.
