Barbara Brake

Barbara L. Brake, 86, of Chillicothe, died 5:35 am, Saturday, May 12, 2018, at the Valley View Alzheimer's Care Center, following a 6 month illness.   She was born February 8, 1932 in Chillicothe to the late Franklin and Hattie Newman Moody. On February 22, 1953 she married Henry L. Brake, who died May 23, 1995. Survivors include her son, Henry L. Brake II, of Chillicothe; her grandchildren, Justin and Jami Brake; her great-grandchildren, Malia and Maddex Tanner; a very special friend, Amy Steinbrook; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Brake; two sisters, Patricia Adams and Phyllis Haskins; and a brother, Richard Moody.   Mrs. Brake was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, and participated in the church choir and prayer group. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and crocheting and was a member of a local garden club.   Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Thursday at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, Rev. Jason Link officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call 11-1:00 Thursday at Haller's.
