Aurora Adeva

Aurora Yusay Adeva, MD, 90, of Chillicothe, passed away in her home surrounded by loved ones on Friday morning, September 15, 2017. She was born July 19, 1927, in Manila, Philippines, to the late Benito (US Navy, Retired) and Gregoria (Yusay) Adeva. Dr. Adeva is survived by her two adopted sons Brian (Elicia) Adeva of Chillicothe and Seymour (Jaclyn) Adeva, Jr. of Londonderry; grandchildren Xavier and Maverick Adeva; sisters Liwayway (Chris) Makilan and family of San Antonio, Texas, Emilyn (Nabil) Rezkalla and family of Fishers, Indiana, Rosaline (Sami) Mutlaq and family of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Sheila (Kai) Danielmeier and family of Bunde, Germany; aunt Dolores Adeva, MD of Manila, Philippines; cousins Archie (Sol) Salillas of Birmingham, Alabama, Oliver Adeva, MD (Dr. Rosemarie) and family of Bacolod City, Philippines, Othello (Lania) Adeva and family of Bacolod City, Philippines; niece Dutchee Florete of Manila, Philippines; and nephew Sherwin Florete of Manila, Philippines. Dr. Adeva is preceded in death by her parents, sister Lydia Florete, DMD, and cousins Seymour Adeva, Sr. and Dr. Alex Salillas (Col. US Army). Dr. Adeva completed her medical education at the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Medicine and Surgery in Manila, Philippines and her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Veterans Administration in Los Angeles, California. Dr. Adeva served 29 years at the Veterans Administration, of which the majority was spent serving veterans in Chillicothe, Ohio. Dr. Adeva held an Emeritus status license with the State of Ohio Medical Board. Dr. Adeva was a devoted Catholic and enjoyed gardening, traveling, cooking, and being with family and loved ones, as well as continuing her medical education after retirement. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no public services. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
