Anthony Lynn Carter, Chillicothe Ohio, born on June 3,1954 at Grant Hospital, Columbus, Ohio to the late Frederick and Barbara Carter passed away at home surrounded by his family from an extended illness on June 29, 2024.
Anthony was a 1973 graduate of Mohawk High School in Columbus. In June 14, 1975 he married Nickcola Cunningham who preceded him in death on March 21, 2024. Anthony is survived by his children, Seanne (Lina) Carter of Aurora, Colorado, Dannielle Carter and Miles Carter both of Chillicothe Ohio, brothers Mark and Russell Carter of Chillicothe, sister-in-law Janet Cunningham (Rita Fuchsman) and brother-in-law Philip Cunningham of Chillicothe. He is also survived by his granddaughter Sarah Carter as well as his "extra grandchildren" Haylee Stevens and Alex Oxenham as well as many cousins including Moanie Long of Dayton, Ohio and lifelong friend Greg Morgan of Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Anthony served in the United States Air Force from 1974 to 1978 as a Law Enforcement Officer in Maine, South Korea, and New Mexico. After leaving the service in 1978 he worked for the Mead Corporation in the pulp mill until his retirement in 2016. He had a love of jazz music, old sci-fi movies, lawn care, cooking, watching football, and spending time with his family.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no funeral. A memorial party is being planned to take place at his home in early fall. Haller Funeral Home is serving the family.
