Annie Spires

Annie Marie Spires, 78, of Chillicothe, Ohio, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, went to her heavenly home on September 18, 2022.  She was surrounded by the people she loved the most in the world, the family who loved her.    She was predeceased by her husband, Clay Sherman Spires.  She was also predeceased by her parents, Joseph Horsley and Mabel Evelyn Crowder Horsley; brothers Earl and Roger Horsley (Buna); and sisters Phyllis Horsley and Sharon (Jim) Flannery and infant sister. She is survived by her son Stephen Wayne Spires (Penny Branham) and daughter, Robin (Phil) Rider of Chillicothe.  Also surviving are six grandchildren: Zach Spires, Tia (Ernie) Cyrus, Brittany and Baylee Rider, Josh and Tara Chaney. Two great-grandchildren: Bently and Weston Cyrus; and a great-grandson on the way, Nolan Clay.  Surviving are three sisters: Freda (Art) Messer; Lois (Joe) Adkins and Joyce Horsley.  She has two surviving brothers: Donald (Judy) Horsley and Rickey (Janie) Horsley and many nieces and nephews all of whom she loved very much and they loved her dearly.  She was a member of the Sunrush Church of Christ where she attended faithfully.   Her funeral service will be held at 1pm Thursday, Sept. 22, at the Haller Funeral Home with Ron Thomas officiating.  Burial will follow in Charleston Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 11am until 1pm Thursday at the funeral home.
