Anna Johnson

Anna Kathryn Johnson, 100, of Chillicothe, passed away on Sunday afternoon, March 11, 2018, at Westmoreland Place, following a brief illness. She was born September 8, 1917, in Pike Co., Ohio, to the late Sherman and Anna (Simon) Maple. On February 22, 1947, she married Jimmy E. Johnson, who preceded her in death on June 7, 2002. Surviving is her son, Jerry (Karen) Johnson; 5 grandchildren, David Johnson, Lynn Landis, Kimberly Dum, Jeremiah Johnson, and Zachary Carroll; 13 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Merrill Jay Johnson; a daughter, Gay Annette Carroll; her 4 brothers and 3 sisters; as well as her beloved dog, Misty Ann. Anna was a homemaker for all of her life and loved raising her family. She also enjoyed growing roses and bird watching. The family would like to thank Westmoreland Place for the love and care given to Anna over the last 16 years. Also, thank you to National Church Residences hospice service for the caring support they provided in her final days. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Little Mound Cemetery.
