Anna L. Borland, 81, of Chillicothe, died 8:25 am, Wednesday, September 15, 2010, at Heartland of Chillicothe. She was born January 14, 1929 in Chillicothe to Ralph L. and Bernice Althouse Miller. She married Harold "Jack" Borland, who died in 1988. Survivors include her children, Larry (Patty) Borland, Denise Borland, and Marsha (Scott) Wiles, all of Chillicothe and Connie (Jim) Neff, of Adelphi; seven grandchildren, Karen, Valerie and Michael Lancaster, Bret Borland, Alicia Goodling, Kyle Justice and Robert Wiles; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Virginia (Bill) Knox and a brother Tom (Delores) Miller, both of Chillicothe; a sister-in-law, Pauline Miller and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Lancaster; a sister, Mary Hayes; and a brother, Jim Miller. Mrs. Borland was the longest attending member of the First Wesleyan Church and was very active in several ministries at the church. In 1971 she was given three to four months to live after being diagnosed with cancer. Trusting in God's will and his timing, she survived four more bouts with cancer over the last 40 years. She retired from the Adena Health System as a nurse's aid. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, at the First Wesleyan Church, Rev. Fred Fox officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 11-1 Saturday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the church at 89 S. Mulberry St., Chillicothe, OH, 45601.
