Anita Jane Graves, 58, of Chillicothe, passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 14, 2021, at the Adena Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness.
She was born March 13, 1963, in Chillicothe, Ohio, daughter of the late Clifford "Bill" Retherford, and Barbara (Freeman) Strausbaugh. On March 24, 1979, she married Dale E. Graves, having celebrated their 42 nd anniversary last month.
In addition to her husband Dale, she is survived by her children, Dawn R. (Matt) Throckmorton, and Richard A. (Amanda) Graves; three very special grandchildren that were her world, Taylor N. Throckmorton, Seth R. Throckmorton, and Axton A. Graves; her mother and step-father, Barbara (Ken) Strausbaugh; all of Chillicothe; her aunt, Judy Evans, of Birch River, WV; siblings, Vicki (Harry) Conrad, of Logan, OH, Tim (Ginny) Retherford, Deb Retherford, and Jodi Brown, all of Chillicothe; step-sisters, Tami Stern and Tess Strausbaugh; mother and father-in-law, Tom and Delores Miller; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Anita was an avid gardener and loved being outside tending to her flowers.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation services will be performed. There will be no public calling hours or services. A celebration of life will be held in the coming days for close friends and family.
