Angelia Zanette (Beish) Raney, 57, of Chillicothe, died 4:16am, Thursday, June 3, 2021 at the Ohio State University Medical Center, following a three-year battle with cancer.
She was born June 16, 1963 in Zanesville, Ohio to Marshall Beish and Cheryl (Graves) Mahon. On June 21, 2001 she married the love of her life, Kevin Raney, who survives. In addition to her husband and her mother, she is survived by her step-children, Brittany (Aaron Gross, Jackson and Brandon Raney, Chillicothe; grandchildren that she loved dearly, Kyli, Bexli, and Merci Gross, and Ariyah Raney; sisters, Stella (Samuel) McGraw, and Vanessa Beish, Chillicothe; her nieces, Samantha McGraw, Chillicothe and Amanda Thacker, Ft. Myers, Florida; and great-nephew, Rick Thacker, Ft. Myers, Florida; along with many cousins and a vast number of friends. She was preceded in death by her father, grandparents Marshall and Alice Beish, and Loretta Joyce Cash.
Angie graduated from Chillicothe High School and earned several degrees including a Master's Degree in Education from Ohio University. She used her knowledge in many areas of her work which involved helping children and recovering adults. She was employed at Pickaway Area Recovery Services, Circleville, Ohio as their Clinical Director. She also worked for CARF where she accredited multiple mental health, rehab and recovery clinics across the country which allowed her to almost meet her goal of visiting every state (she only had four states that she had not visited).
Angie was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church where she loved working with the children's AWANA program. She also supported the Kids Camp program each summer to help the children that could not afford to attend camp by donating the tuition for them to attend. She loved doing this as she enjoyed church camp as a child where she was saved at the age of 9.
Angie loved her Savior and helped many find their way to Christ and never missed a chance to thank a veteran for their service. Her theme in life was "Love in Action" which included speaking, smiling, calling people by name, being friendly, helpful, cordial and being genuinely interested in people, being generous with praise, cautious with criticism, considerate of the feelings of others, thoughtful of the opinions of others, but most of all being alert to the opportunities to give praise and service to her Lord and Savior.
She truly believed what she found written in her great-great-grandmothers Bible: Little faith hopes that God will do what he says; Strong faith knows that he will and Great faith believes that he has already done it. He not only works through people of faith, he transforms them. Her life goal was to always strive for great faith. Because of that great faith, we can be assured that the first words she heard in Heaven were "Well done my good and faithful servant."
A celebration of Angie's life will be held at Lighthouse Baptist Church on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 11:00am followed by a "meet and greet" fellowship meal at the church. The celebration will be streamed on the Lighthouse Baptist Facebook page, group, and YouTube account.
To honor Angie's memory, in lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to the church to continue her mission of providing funds for children to be able to attend Kids Camp every summer. Donations can be sent to Lighthouse Baptist Church, 341 Clinton Rd., Chillicothe, OH 45601.
In accordance to the family's wishes, a private service will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date.
