Andrew Benenati

November 9, 1941 — April 15, 2014

Andrew R. Benenati, 72, of Chillicothe, died unexpectedly Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at Adena Regional Medical Center. He was born November 9, 1941, in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Gaetano and Julia (Love) Benenati.

Andy is survived by his long-term companion, JoAnn Trego, also of Chillicothe; JoAnn's daughter and son-in-law Dawn (John) Hulett, Piketon; JoAnn's grandchildren Richie Jones and Kaylyn Valentine, both of Chillicothe; his sisters Donna M. Benenati and Roberta Gerber; and a brother Joseph Benenati. He was predeceased by his parents; sisters Mary Ellen Edenfield and Debra Schiebner; and a brother Anthony Benenati.

Andy retired as a millwright from Chilpaco in 1995. He was also a current Ross Co. Sheriff Reserve Deputy since 1979. He served his country in the US Navy from 1959-1962. Andy was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church; Knights of Columbus, Council 1071; the Amvets, Post 4; VFW, Post 108; Eagles, Aerie 600; American Legion, Post 62; Moose Lodge 1626 and 192; lifetime member of the NRA; the Mead Rifle and Pistol Club; Highland Lodge #38, F & AM; H.O.G., and several motorcycle riding groups associated with his different clubs.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am Monday, April 21, at St. Peter Catholic Church, Rev. William Hahn, Celebrant. Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Twin Township Cemetery, Bourneville. Friends may call Monday from 10-11am at Haller Funeral Home, where a Masonic funeral will be held at 10:30am.
