Andrea Burke

Andrea Lyn Burke, 46, of Wellston, died December 28, 2017 at the Ohio State University Medical Center.   She was born June 4, 1971 in Hanover, NH to Douglas and Teena Roof Hammond. On August 15, 1998 she married Jeremy S. Burke, who survives. In addition to her husband and father, survivors include her four children, Eliana, Makenna, Zane and Galen Burke, all at home; three brothers, Eric (Holly) Hammond, Broomall, PA, Eron (Jesse) Hammond, Youngsville, NC, and Evan (Sara) Hammond, Canaan, NH; and her second mom and dad, Robert and Debbie Alward, Ossipee, NH. She was preceded in death by her mother; her grandparents, Howard and Evelyn Roof; and her adopted sister, Melissa Alward.   Andrea was a speech pathologist with the Waverly City School System. She loved caring for animals and children with special needs. She was very active with the Humane Society of Jackson Co. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.   A memorial service will be held 4:00 pm Tuesday at Calvary Lutheran Church, Rev. Janet Hatch officiating.
