Amy C. Lawson, 48, of Chillicothe, died peacefully at 11:05pm on January 26, 2025, with her husband and daughter by her side. Amy had been battling a rare cancer for several years.
She was born December 11, 1976, in Portsmouth, OH to Troy L. and Carol J. (Kelley) Lewis, who survive and reside in Firebrick, KY. On June 30, 2008, she married Noah E. Lawson, also surviving.
In addition to her husband and parents, Amy is survived by her daughter Sloane Lawson, of Chillicothe; her sister Lori L. Lewis, Firebrick, KY; her father-in-law and mother-in-law Warren L. and Diana S. Lawson, of Chillicothe; brothers-in-law Matthew (Tara) Lawson and Nathan (Stephanie) Lawson, all of Otway, OH; nieces and nephew: Davilynn Lewis; Kaitie, Kari, Karlee, and Aidan Lawson.
Amy earned her Bachelor's Degree in engineering from Shawnee State and her Master's Degree in Science from Ohio University. She was employed with the Dept. Of Energy as a Physical Scientist. She had been a member of the local Junior Civic League and enjoyed her days in the sun floating and boating with friends at the lakes, listening to good music, celebrating special events with her family, and above all Amy loved being a mother to Sloane.
A Celebration of her Life will be held at 3pm Sunday, Feb. 2, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will receive friends from 1-3pm Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to either the Cancer Fund or Hospice Fund of the Adena Health Foundation, 9 S. Paint St., Chillicothe, OH 45601. The family is extremely grateful for the local care and would like to contribute back to these organizations.
