Amy E. Diehl, 48, of Chillicothe, died at 10:53am July 16, 2012, at the Ohio State University Hospital, James Cancer Center, following an extended battle with leukemia. She was born November 5, 1963, in Steubenville, OH, to James and Judith A. (Smith) Bodo. On August 14, 1990, she married Timothy D. Diehl, Jr. who survives. Also surviving are her daughters Brianna and Timyka Diehl, both of Chillicothe; her parents, Jim and Judy Bodo, of Groveport, OH; her father-in-law and mother-in-law Timothy, Sr. and Beverly Diehl, of Bainbridge; her sister Brenda Bodo and her companion Jim Perry, of Groveport; her brother and sister-in-law Chris and Diane Bodo, Washington, C.H.; her brother-in-law Evan (Evelyn) Diehl, of Lancaster; nieces and nephews: Emerald, Alanna, Elly, Holden and Rylan Diehl; and many co-workers and dear friends. Amy was a graduate of Catholic Central High School, Class of 1982, in Steubenville. She then graduated Summa Cum Laude from Kent State University in 1986 and later received her Master's Degree from Ashland University. She taught elementary school at Tallmadge Elementary, Waverly Elementary, Huntington Elementary and most recently 1st grade at Unioto Elementary. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and Junior Civic League. She enjoyed Jazzercise, walking and shopping. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Friday, July 20, at St. Peter Catholic Church, Rev. William Hahn, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery.
