Amos Price

Amos E. Price, Sr., 93, of Chillicothe, died at 6:37pm on January 19, 2024, at Adena Regional Medical Center.
He was born October 9, 1930, in Chillicothe, to the late Charles H. and Sarah A. (Butterbaugh) Price. On June 8, 1953, he married the former Jessie A. Draher, who preceded him in death July 21, 2021.
Surviving are their children: Louise Hamman, of Chillicothe, Amos E. (Connie) Price, Jr., of Waldo, OH, and Penny (Glen Edward) Adams, of Frankfort; grandchildren: Wes Hamman, Morgan (Jared) O'Dell, Aaron Price, Abram Price, Joshua (Andrea) Chaney, Wyatt (Julie) Adams, and Tyler Adams; 7 great- grandchildren; and a special nephew David (Joni) Price. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his son Joseph W. Price; grandson Caleb Price; siblings: Mildred Hutcheson, Marcella Shipton, Clarence Price, Clyde Price, Robert Price, Harold Price and Charles H. Price, Jr.; and a special nephew Charles H. Price III.
Amos worked as a millwright at Mead Paper Co. prior to his retirement in 1993. He served his country in the US Air Force from 1948-1954 and the Air National Guard from 1972-1986. He was a member of Beulah Chapel Church, Mead Local 731, and the Star/Orphans Hope Lodge, No. 182, I.O.O.F for nearly 80 years.
Amos was not one to express his deep emotions, but his family and close friends could feel his love and knew they could depend on him. He and his good friend, Elza (June) Bridenbaugh, were always keeping others on their toes with practical jokes and pranks. Amos was an avid NASCAR fan and was always ready to "Go Racing" either to the track or through the television.
His funeral service will be held at 1pm Friday, February 2, 2024, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Aaron Long officiating. Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard, will follow in Dunkard Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12-1pm Friday prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
