Alvin Luster Arnold, 91, passed away in the early morning hours of December 24th after a brief illness of congestive heart failure. He was at his home under the excellent care of Adena Hospice. Alvin was born October 17, 1920 to Cletus and Mabel Arnold. On November 15, 1942 he married Norma Jean Huiss who survives and recently they celebrated 69 years of marriage. He is also survived by his son Bruce and daughter-in-law Carolyn and grandchildren Jessica and Bradley. Alvin was a Chillicothe High School graduate. He had a career as a Mechanical Designer and worked at Alcoa, Mead Corporate Engineering and retired from Martin Marietta. He enjoyed working at the NCL restaurant prior to his Army service. He was a Technical Sergeant with the 2nd Armored Division from 1942 – 1945 in the European and North African conflicts. Alvin was very active enjoying softball and hardball, square dancing, sailing, bowling, water skiing to the age of 74 and golf to the age of 90. He also played numerous other sports as well. He and his wife enjoyed traveling a large part of the United States. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Adena Hospice for their excellent care. A Service of Remembrance wiIl be held 8:00 pm Wednesday, at the Haller Funeral Home. Military graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family.
