Alonzo "Fred" Seymour, Jr., 73, of Chillicothe, passed from this life on Monday evening, April 28, 2025 at his home, following an extended illness.
He was born on February 3, 1952 in Chillicothe, son of the late Alonzo F. Seymour and Betty (Ramsey) Seymour, who survives.
In addition to his mother, also surviving is his beloved wife of nearly 46 years, Kathy (Bobo) Seymour; two sons, Brad Seymour, and Gabe Seymour- extremely proud of both. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by father and mothers-in-law Robert and Anna Catherine Bobo; his two brothers and sisters-in-law , Gary (Sue) Bobo, and Phil (Janie) Bobo.
He had great memories with his longtime friends especially John and Patti.
Fred was a graduate with CHS class of 1970 and OU-C. He was a case worker at the Scioto Paint Valley Mental Health Center, retiring in 2017 and previously worked for RCA. Over the years Fred enjoyed wood working (with the knowledge handed down from his Dad), refinishing antiques, his dart and bowling leagues, comic book collection, sports with both sons early age to college and assistant coaching with their early baseball and soccer teams. Also a member of Walnut Street United Church. Fred was a huge fan of The Beatles (he will be wearing his Let It Be tie).
Tremendous and heartfelt thanks to Dr John Seidensticker and the hospice staff for the excellent care.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at the Haller Funeral Home with Pastor Therese Lehman officiating. Friends may join the family for visitation from 11:00am until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers we suggest memorial contributions to Hospice or Walnut Street Methodist Church.
