Alice Faye Thomas, 71, of Chillicothe, passed away June 30, 2017 in Columbus, Ohio. She was born June 9, 1946, in Maysville, Kentucky, to the late Everett and Kemper (Marshall) Lewis. Alice is survived by her husband and best friend, John Thomas; three children, Shannon (Atrell) McCory, of Chillicothe, Matthew Lewis, of Columbus, and Karmen Thomas, of Charlotte, NC; her siblings, Harry (Priscilla) Lewis, Barry (Patricia) Lewis, both of Maysville, KY, Kenny Lewis, of Lexington, KY, and Toni (Rob) Shultz, of Burlington, KY; five grandchildren, Tiara, Nathan, Tamiah, Isaac, and Stephen; six great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Everett Jr., and Wayne (Tiny), her sisters, Bobbie and Dorothy, and a special aunt, Estella Marshall. Alice was a member of the Zion Baptist Church in Chillicothe for more than 20 years. She served as a Deaconess and was a member of the Praise Team and Mass Choir. She was employed by CCI as a case manager for more than 15 years before her retirement in November 2008. In her free time she loved spending time with her family and friends, singing, and cooking. A funeral service will be held at 4:00pm on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at the Zion Baptist Church with Dr. Rev. J. Troy Gray officiating. Friends may call from 2:00pm until the time of the service. Burial will be held at Green Acres Memory Garden in Maysville, KY on Friday at the convenience of the family.
