Alice Chaney

Alice Jean Chaney (Kingery) , beloved wife of Leroy Chaney, loving mother to Lana Gutierrez (Sergio) and Larry Chaney, and Grandmother to the love of her life Lauren.  Alice passed away on Saturday September 12th after suffering a stroke and then seizures. Born March 26, 1938 in Jamestown, Ohio, to Kenneth and Annie (Slayton) Kingery. She was the next to oldest of 14 children and the oldest daughter. She graduated from Twin school in 1956. She had perfect attendance all 12 years of school. She married Leroy September 13, 1958. She worked at 1st Federal Savings and Loan for 26 years. She became the vice president on the board of directors during her time there. Their son Larry was born in 1960 followed by their daughter Lana in 1971. She owned her own Collectible Doll and Gift Shop for 33 years. In addition to her husband, children, and grandchild, she is survived by siblings: Bonnie (David) Maughmer, Karen (Steve) Tatman, Paul Kingery, Darrell Ray (Colleen) Kingery, Ronald Kingery, Larry Kingery, Kevin Kingery, Keith (Susie) Kingery, and Mark Kingery, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Kenneth Jr. Kingery, Neil Kingery, Karl Wayne Kingery as well as her sister Elizabeth "Libby" Miller and brother-in-law Mike Miller. As well as her sisters-in-law: Ruth Kingery, Carolyn Kingery, and Penny Kingery. She was also predeceased by her very close friend Judy Cox. Her special nephew Bill Chaney, who died on September 12th, 2011, considered her a second mother.   Alice had many friends through her years in the doll business and will be greatly missed by them and her family. She loved the Cincinnati Reds and enjoyed going to Reds games. She had many friends in the Cincinnati area.   There will be a private burial per Alice's request. Memorial contributions may be made to the Haller Funeral Home to help with final expenses.
