Alfred Harris

Alfred S. "Shorty" Harris Alfred S. "Shorty" Harris, 67, of Chillicothe, died at 9:28pm Friday, August 19, 2005, in Adena Regional Medical Center. He was born October 17, 1937, in Pike Co., OH to the late Ernest and Della Mae Kuhn Harris. On September 5, 1957, he married the love of his life, the former Mary Ann Hoosier, who survives. Also surviving are his brothers Lloyd Harris, of Pike Co.; Delbert Harris, Vinton Co.; sisters Dolly Cotton and Geraldine Davis, both of Pike Co.; many nieces and nephews; special friends Rev. Steve Ragland, Rev. Leonard Roop, and Deacon Phil Raney. He was predeceased by sisters Marguerite Reisinger and Cora Lee Herman; and brothers Arnold, Waynard, Carl, and Harley Harris. Shorty worked at the Recording Workshop. He never knew a stranger and was liked by all who met him. He was a member of Floral Baptist Church, where funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday, August 23, under the direction of Haller Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Ragland officiating. Burial will follow in Carr's Run Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from Noon until 2:00pm at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to either the American Heart Assoc. or the American Diabetes Assoc.
