Alexis Cousins

November 11, 1990 — February 10, 2013

Alexis Christine Cousins, 22, went to heaven peacefully on February 10, 2013, after an amazing, faith-filled battle with cancer. She was born November 11, 1990, in Chillicothe, OH, to Devin W. and Heather J. (Brown) Cousins, who survive. Also surviving is a sister, Kennedy, whom she cherished; grandmothers Rosemary Brown and Joan Cousins, all of Chillicothe; aunts Felecia (Brad) Valentine, of Chillicothe; Justine (Dwayne) Smith, of Frankfort; Ranatha Thomas, of Portsmouth; and Beverly Cousins, of Chillicothe; uncles David Cousins (Harold), of Florida; and Dana (Debbie) Cousins, of Chillicothe; several great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins and close friends. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers Lawrence W. Brown and Warren E. Cousins. Alexis graduated from Chillicothe High School with honors in 2009. She was a member of the National Honor Society, President of the Literary Club and a member of Rainbow Alliance. At the time of her illness, she was a junior at Wright State University majoring in Psychology and employed by the Wright State University Psychology Department. She was an avid reader, played the flute and enjoyed her role as a connoisseur of different cuisines. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary Parish, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am Thursday, Rev. Lawrence Hummer, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8pm on Wednesday at Haller Funeral Home, where a wake service will be held at 8pm. Alexis possessed great faith, strength and wisdom beyond her years. She was an amazing person and she touched so many lives. It was truly a blessing to know her. The family wishes to thank the wonderful care team at Nationwide Children's Hospital, Columbus; the clergy at Children's Hospital, the staff of Kroger's Pharmacy-Western, Rev. Lawrence Hummer, our church families, and the many special people, so many, that God has brought into our lives, for your prayers and support. God bless each and every one of you. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society of St. Mary Church, 61 S. Paint St., Chillicothe, OH 45601.
