Abby Groves

Abby Francine Groves, 47, died unexpectedly November 8, 2018, at Adena Regional Medical Center.

She was born February 27, 1971, in Chillicothe to Richard E. and Karen L. (Cunningham) Groves, who survive.

Also surviving are her brothers Aaron Groves, Tybee Island, GA; and Aric Groves, of Pooler, GA; her maternal grandmother Lina Louise Cunningham; paternal grandfather Robert "Doc" Groves, both of Chillicothe; aunts and uncles: Hugh Patrick Cunningham, Brenda Lee Francis, Edward Paul Cunningham, Elizabeth Groves, Robert "Rocky" (Suzanne) Groves, Abby Susanne Shopel and Gregory Scott Groves. She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather Hugh Cunningham, paternal grandmother Verna Groves; and an uncle Danny L. Groves.

Abby attended Bishop Flaget School and was a graduate of Chillicothe High School, Class of 1989. She had worked at General Electric for over 15 years prior to its closing and currently was attending Ohio Christian University. She was an active support of veteran's organizations, especially those that support Vietnam Veterans. She also supported the Ross Co. Humane Society for her love of dogs.

The family will receive friends from 5-8pm Monday, November 12, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. Private burial will be held at Grandview Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either: a veteran's organization of the donor's choice; or the Ross Co. Humane Society, 2308A Lick Run Rd., Chillicothe, OH 45601.
