Anna Louise Brooks, 95, of Columbus, formerly of Chillicothe, died at 1:35am Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at Sunrise on the Scioto, following an extended illness. She was born January 2, 1914, in Clarksburg, to the late Carlos, Jr. and Sara (Hancher) Eycke. On July 4, 1939, she married John Wendell Brooks, who preceded her in death on November 18, 1996. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law Carla A. (Harry B.) Keith, of Columbus; granddaughter Dr. Julia (Dr. Christopher) Lloyd, of Chicago; a sister Jeanne Badgley, Chillicothe; brothers and sisters-in-law Thomas (Nedra) Eycke, Sarasota, FL; and Carl (Mary Lou) Eycke, Raleigh, NC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sisters Ruth Bernadine Eycke; and Kathleen Fisher. Louise was a graduate of the former Clarksburg High School. She worked for the former Dawson Chevrolet in Clarksburg and as a bookkeeper for Robert Hamm Insurance. While her health permitted, she was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Chillicothe Country Club where she was an ardent golfer. She also served as a Girls Scout Trooper Leader and was a member of the Progressive Mothers Club. Funeral service will be held at 10:00am Friday, May 15, in the HALLER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Tad Grover officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8pm at Haller Funeral Home. Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to Homereach Hospice, 3535 Olentangy River Rd., Columbus, OH 43214.
