Thomas (Tom) E. Blazer 50, of Chillicothe passed away at Hospice of the Valley in Surprise, Arizona on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at 4:10 pm. after a short battle with cancer.

Tom was born in Chillicothe, Ohio on April 15, 1962. He was a 1980 graduate of Chillicothe High School and Pickaway-Ross Vocational School. Tom was employed by The Department of Corrections and worked at RCI for 25 years. He was a member of the Kingston Masonic Lodge for many years and was an active Hamm Radio Operator. Tom was very proficient in computers and anything high tech. Some of his interests included performing magic tricks, decorating an annual haunted house, riding motorcycles, fishing, traveling, woodworking and playing with his Puppy Jack (aka puppy).

Tom is survived by mother, Eva Ross Blazer; two sisters, Mrs. Donald (Barbara) Harrington of Surprise, Arizona and Mrs. Bruce (Nancy) Elliott of London, Ohio; fiancé, Cara Holt of Chillicothe; and many nieces and nephews. Tom had many good friends, Ray and Jeannie Lindsey (aka Ray Daddy), Roger Neff, and Steve Anderson just to name a few. Tom was preceded in death by his father, Thomas W. Blazer.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to American Cancer Society, Hospice of the Valley, Surprise, AZ and/or charity of choice. The family wishes to thank the staff at Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Hospice of the Valley, co-workers at Ross Correctional Institution as well as the many friends who have touched our lives during this difficult time.

A Masonic service, followed by a memorial service, will be held 7:00 pm, Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Haller Funeral Home. Friends may call 2 hours prior to the services at Haller’s. Burial will in Greenlawn Cemetery will be held 10:00 am August 15, 2012.
