Albert A. “Dick” Hawk, 92, of Chillicothe, died at 11:04pm Saturday, July 21, 2012, in Valley View Care Center following an extended illness.

He was born March 23, 1920, in Chillicothe, to the late James and Marjorie (Skinner) Hawk. On July 7, 1941, he married the former Frances M. Williams, who survives.

Also surviving are his daughter Rosalee Dunn, of Bainbridge; grandchildren Debbe (Devin) Carmichael, Largo, FL; Roseann (Bill) Barnett, Bainbridge; Frank Marshall, Queen Creek, AZ; James (Mishion) Marshall, Chillicothe; Charity Marshall, Chillicothe; and Patti (Tom) Petty, Bainbridge; son-in-law James Marshall, Chillicothe; 6 great-grandchildren; his brothers Everett and Jim Hawk; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by an infant daughter Frances Elizabeth Hawk; daughter Patricia Marshall; a great-grandson Austin Ewart; and son-in-law Bill Dunn.

Dick retired from the Mead Paper Co. in 1983 following over 37 years as a hydro-pump operator. He served his country in the US Army during WWII where he was in the 5th Armored Division. He was a life member of the VFW, Post 108; AmVets, Post 4; American Legion, Post 757; and the Mead, Local 731. Dick was also a member of Grace Fellowship. He loved to garden and could grow anything.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, July 25, at the Haller Funeral Home with Rev. Brent Rolsten officiating. Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard, will follow in Twin Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call from 11-1 Wednesday at Haller Funeral Home.
