Stephen Tyrone Shoults, 63, of Chillicothe, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 11, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Ross Co. on August 1, 1948, to the late Glenn and Margaret (Mickel) Shoults. On November 16, 1972, he married Charlotte Cyrus, who survives.
Also surviving are his son Daniel (Alicia) Shoults, Columbus; sister Joy (Neil) Uhrig; cousin Robert (Nancy) Shoutlz, all of Chillicothe; brothers-in-law Lloyd (Barbara) Cyrus, Ray, OH; Lawrence (Tina) Cyrus, Bolivar; and Arvin (Dottie) Cyrus, Jackson; sisters-in-law Ivella Cyrus, Grove City; Lois (Robert) Scott, Fairfield; Kay (Rick) Long, Milford Center; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, Christopher Shoults; brothers: Harold, Colin, Harley, Philip and Marvin Shoults; and sisters: Garnet Wipert and Audrey Soummers.
Steve graduated from Huntington High School, attended OU-C and served in the US Army. He worked 40 years in quality engineering and retired in October 2011 from Mid West Fabricating Co. in Amanda.
He will be most remembered for his beautiful blue eyes and smile, a teacher of children’s church for many years, and the Bible studies he led right up to the last weeks of his life. He attended Brookside Church, where he loved singing in the choir and cantatas.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Thursday, March 15, at the Haller Funeral Home, with Rev. David Dean & Rev. Jack Norman officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 5-7pm at Haller Funeral Home.
